An event to honor EOD brethren… we’re there! Team Point One participated in the 2021 EOD 136 workout event organized by the EOD Warrior Foundation with teams on the east and west coasts competing in the grueling exercises, some on October 22nd and others on October 29th at Point One facilities.
Point One West Teams 1 and 2 completed their workouts October 22nd and October 29th in San Diego with five-member teams…
while Point One East Teams 1, 3, and Team 2, aka Team Sparkle, competed concurrently with four-member teams and completed their workouts in Virginia Beach, October 29th, the morning of the Fortress opening and dedication ceremony.
(Team 2 did have an honorary team member, the namesake of the legendary, inspirational Richard Simmons. Though Rick did not feel the burn, he did don the sparkle, and brought his “delightful” demeanor.)
It was high fives and good times at the Fortress fitness center for those working out and those cheering folks on.
But it was not, and never will be forgotten, why we were gathered: to remember the 136 EOD technicians who have lost their lives since 9/11.
Good job, everyone, for remembering and honoring the fallen, and supporting the foundation, the community, and Team Point One… even you, strong ma’am!
Just as we have previously done in the EOD workouts or cycling series, we will show up, we will continue to support, and look forward to the next opportunity to lift, press and push in appreciation of the sacrifice of the few for the many.
